Bio

Jessi Shoemaker is a photographer from southwestern Pennsylvania.  In recent years, she spent time in Talkeetna, Alaska, both Breckenridge and Crested Butte, Colorado,  mid-coast Maine, and back to Colorado (Salida). Her work is propelled by the abundance of alluring beauty embedded within each season of the natural environment. If you have ever spent time with Jessi in nature, her reverence for the land is felt with an acute awareness which reflects her work in a near magical, dream-like perspective.

Jessi earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Point Park University along with continuing education at Pittsburgh Fillmmakers’ School of Film, where she learned various alternative darkroom printing processes.

At Pittsburgh Filmmakers, Sue Abramson deepened her understanding of photography.  Sue continues to be an inspiration, mentor, and most of all, a friend.

Jessi currently works freelance. In the past she has worked as a technician at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and, in Crested Butte, Colorado, as a gallery representative at Shaun Horne Gallery
