Bio
Jessi Shoemaker is an artist, photographer, and outdoor enthusiast whose work is deeply shaped by her reverence for the natural world. Raised in the lush woods of southwestern Pennsylvania, she has spent years exploring breathtaking landscapes—from the vast beauty of Alaska to the enchanting allure of Colorado and the mystical shores of mid-coast Maine. These places are living forces that shape her art, where each season carries its own magic, reflected in her dreamlike perspective.
Jessi earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Point Park University and continued her studies at Pittsburgh Filmmakers’ School of Film, where she explored alternative darkroom printing under the mentorship of Sue Ambramson—who remains a dear friend and inspiration.
As a freelance photographer, Jessi has previously worked as a photo technician at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh and as a gallery representative at Shaun Horne Gallery in Crested Butte, Colorado. Whether behind the camera, in the darkroom, or under an open sky, she is always chasing the fleeting, beautiful moments that make life feel infinite.
