Bio

Jessi Shoemaker (b. 1980) is a photographer from southwestern Pennsylvania, now living in rural Maine. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Point Park University along with continuing education at Pittsburgh Fillmmakers’ School of Film, where she learned various alternative darkroom printing processes. 

At Pittsburgh, Sue Abramson deepened Jessi’s understanding of photography. Sue continues to be an inspiration and mentor.

Jessi currently works freelance. In the past she has worked as a technician at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and, in Crested Butte, Colorado, as a gallery representative at the Grubstake Gallery, and Shaun Horne Gallery.
